Any broadband is better than dial-up, but some are faster than others. In this article, we explain their differences.

The Different Types of Broadband

​1. DSL:

DSL uses phone lines. Residential service is available, but businesses have access to much faster connections.

2. Cable:

Cable is fast, widely available and works in tandem with television service without slowing down.

3. Fiber:

Fiber is the fastest option, but the least commonly available.

4. Mobile Networks:

Cellular phone networks can be fast, but you need a strong 4G connection.

5. Satellite:

A faster broadband option than dial-up for rural areas, but weather can slow or block it.
